Ray Manzarek:
I first met Ray when we were neighbors in West Hollywood 2 doors apart back in 1972. I was renting a room from a friend, Barbara Gates (you saw her in Star Trek!) and Ray’s kid played with Barbara’s daughter. He was a very regular fellow, friendly and always waved and said hello.
I remember our last words at a John Cale show at MacCabe’s, where he was with his good friend Michael McClure in the late 80’s.
Mr. Manzarek, you had style, and will be missed.
